❖ NPC stands for Non-Playable Character. These characters are the general characters that the story does not revolve around—they are the shop owners, the random people you see walking down the street, the bar tender, etc.
❖ General NPC controls will be manned by the {GM}s.
❖ The NPC Alliance System.
I'm sure most of you have taken notice to the notable NPCs that are running around HetaWorld. This system makes it so that your character is able to form bonds (aka. relationships) with these NPCs.
—Positive Bonds—
The benefits for forming positive bonds include receiving small items or trinkets or obtaining new found information (if you ask the right questions). These possibilities broaden and vary depending on the NPC's profession.
Take note that no matter how much you and your NPC buddy gets along, you will not get the NPC to 1) follow you into battle, or 2) give you a place to stay.
—Negative Bonds—
There are repercussions for forming negative bonds with NPCs. If you are unfortunate enough to form a negative bond with an NPC... well, good luck. They'll scorn you and—depending on how much they hate you—they will do their best to prevent you from reaching your current goal.
—General Information—
o1. NPCs will help or benefit you depending on their profession.
o2. The more important / powerful the NPC is, the harder it will be to form a positive bond with them and the easier it will be to form a negative bond. Their benefits for a positive bond will be considerably useful, but the repercussions for forming a negative bond will be absolutely horrid.
o3. NPCs that are able to form bonds with are only limited to staying in the thread that they met you character in. For example, if you meet a gondolier in The Waterways of the Stretto Canal, you'll only be able to speak with him if you are in The Waterways of the Stretto Canal.
o4. You cannot form romantic relationships with the NPCs. Uck, why would you want to do that?
